Walking Wisely Weekend Host Home & Driver Info
February 20-22, 2026
What is Walking Wisely (W3)?
A: Walking Wisely is an in-town retreat for middle and high school students who call Church at Viera home and for those all across the county! The weekend serves two main purposes: for small groups to come together in community and friendship while also studying God’s word and diving into a relationship that becomes each student’s own. It is easily our students’ favorite event of the year and because of that, we are expecting a turnout that we haven’t seen before! This year, W3 will be the weekend of Friday, February 20 – Sunday, February 22.
How can I get involved?
A: There are three main ways! One way to cultivate community among small groups during W3 is through Host Homes—people like you who open their homes for the weekend to provide a safe place for Gospel conversation and relationship building to thrive. Students and their small group leaders (SGLs) stay the night at Host Homes on Friday evening, spending intentional time in small groups before calling it a night. Signing up to be a Driver or Guest Services Crew Member is another way to be involved, and just as helpful. Keep reading for more info!
What are the expectations of a Host Home?
A: A willing heart! While it is a weekend commitment, students and SGLs will only be in your home in the late evening to early morning. During the day, your home is all yours! In the evening, students will come back for small group time post-session and to (eventually) call it a night. Students will be picked up from your home at 11:00pm on Saturday night.
Because students and their leaders are spending the night in your home, we ask that you have a warm breakfast ready for them on Saturday. Snacks are, of course, always a hit amongst teenagers, too! We do reimburse the dollars you spend to feed the students for the weekend (up to $25.00/person), so make sure you keep any receipts!
I don’t have a big house; can I still be a Host Home?
A: YES! Our students will bring a sleeping bag, a pillow, and a blanket, so all you need is a floor! A spare bedroom or separate sleeping area for the leaders is appreciated. We try to keep small groups together, but we will also max out Host Homes at around 15 people.
You mentioned I could drive for the weekend, too?
A: Yes! If you are signing up to drive, we will send you a background check and assign you to a small group for the weekend. Your role is to drive as many students as you have seatbelts. W3 can’t happen without people who (literally!) become the feet of Jesus to transport students around to hear the Gospel and grow in community!
What does being on the Guest Services team look like?
A: Guest Services team members are so important to the success and overall experience of the weekend! From serving dinner, handing out high fives, and helping us reset the church for Sunday, there is a place for you! See the link below to sign up and for more info.
